ABOUT MONTAGE 2019
Montage is an annual nation-wide photography competition organized by The Photographic Society of NUS that aims to celebrate and promote photography among youths. This year, as we celebrate Montage’s 21st Anniversary since its commencement, we hope that you will have a meaningful experience with us as we bring to life Our National Identity through the art of photography.
This year’s theme, #MadeInSG expresses two facets of our national identity as Singaporeans: Our Country and Our People.
Committing to Environmental Sustainability and Conservation
Singapore’s eco-city developments range from conserving our tropical reservoirs in places such as MacRitchie Reservoir Park
and The Southern Ridges to enlivening our urban metropolis with beautiful architecture such as Gardens By The Bay.
The theme, Our Country aims to bring new vantage points to the natural and/or urban architecture that aims to move Singapore towards being a greener yet modernized city.
Embracing Racial and Religious Harmony
We live in a country where all ethnicities live together harmoniously where inclusion is at the heart of our unique value system.
The theme, Our People aims to capture moments of joy that make up the true Singaporean narrative with stories that involve our multiculturalism and harmony.
A guided tour on reservoir conservation, paired with a landscape photography workshop
to bring deeper meaning into what we see in our everyday Singapore.
A keynote session on the importance of racial harmony and preserving our culture as Singaporeans, paired with a studio portrait workshop that takes a closer look into what makes each ethnicity special.
Take a trip down memory lane with us as we use photography to rediscover our history
and heritage around Singapore’s iconic landmarks.
